Snack Food Quality Control Solutions to be Featured by Process Sensors Corporation and Unity Scientific at SNAXPO 2018

ATLANTA, GA, (March 13, 2018) – Process Sensors Corporation (PSC) and Unity Scientific, both KPM Analytics companies, offer premium NIR analyzer solutions for the measurement and control of moisture, oil/fat, protein, sugar and other parameters in snack food production. PSC and Unity’s analyzers that improve product consistency, reduce waste, archive data, and lower costs will be on display at SNAXPO 2018, booth # 552 in Atlanta, GA.

PSC will be highlighting their MCT466-SF Food & Snacks On-line NIR Smart Sensor suitable for wash-down environments and the QuikCheck At-Line and Lab Analyzer for rapid analysis of grab samples. Moisture content impacts product texture and shelf life, and oil/fat can impact flavor and calories. The MCT466-SF and the QuikCheck Analyzer allow food manufacturers to monitor and control both simultaneously, ultimately influencing brand integrity and customer loyalty.

Optional PSC ViewerSuite software archives product data critical for inspections and product recall activity on a PC, network, or LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) in Excel, XML, or CSV file formats. Recorded data includes date, time and location, as well as moisture and oil/fat measurements. Operators are notified when product is out of specification so that corrections can be made immediately to minimize waste and line down-time. For integrated control, the in-process MCT466-SF offers analog outputs and digital communications, as well as color-coded stack alarms and annunciators for immediate process control.

Unity Scientific will also have experts on hand to demonstrate the SpectraStar XT Snack Food Analyzer at SNAXPO this year. With the best performance in the industry, the XT is a robust, easy-to-use NIR analyzer for both laboratory and at-line environments. The complete Snack Food Analyzer package is ready-to-go for laboratory or at-line analysis of incoming ingredients, in-process samples, and finished products.

All SpectraStar XTs produce accurate and reliable results in 30 seconds, measuring moisture, fat, seasoning, protein, total sugar and other properties from samples at any stage of the process. Starter calibrations are available for many snack foods, including chips and crackers, as well as calibrations for analyzing flour and even fryer oil. TRUE ALIGNMENT® Spectroscopy technology included in all SpectraStar XTs automatically aligns the instrument to keep it in peak operating condition.
