What is the difference between stand-alone and system configuration?

In 1996, Process Sensors became the first company to develop a true smart stand-alone NIR sensor. Today, the MCT460 NIR Smart Sensor can be factory-built in either stand-alone or system configuration depending on your process needs.

  Stand-Alone System Configuration
Operator Interface (OI) Optional Required
Sensor Integration Connects directly to PLC Connects to local OI
Outputs From the sensor From the OI
Power OI powered from sensor Sensor powered from OI

All MCT460s measure the same constituents, are housed in the same rugged cast aluminum enclosure and utilize the same connectors. Multiple configuration options are available to speed up installation and eliminate unneccessary installation-related expenses.
