The MCT-MultiPlex offers moisture, oil, flavorings, product temperature, and product color (CIE L*,a*, b* or Hunter L, a, b) with numerical displays, analog outputs, trends , and digital interface. Biscuits, crackers, cereal, cheese curls, pretzels, and chips are among the many production lines that will benefit from the MCT-MultiPlex. This accurate and rugged analyzer offers multiple measurements and advantages for today’s process needs.
The MCT-MultiPlex consists of MCT-360 NIR Moisture Transmitter technology and a white light source Color Meter housed in a NEMA 4 stainless steel enclosure. Sensor includes all optics, infrared filters, power supply, proprietary detector system and electronics, software and communication outputs. Color measurements are available in CIE L*, a*, b*; Hunter L, a, b and other color scales. Operator Interface (OI) touch screen displays numerical values, trends, height/thickness, alarms and alerts. Standard 50 product codes easily expandable. Analog outputs and digital interface.

The analyzer is enclosed in stainless steel housing with food grade optical window. The system supplies measurements of moisture, oil, and color. The L*, a*, b* color scale is designed to approximate human vision. The lightness of color L* ranges from L*= 0 for black to L*=100 for diffuse white. a* indicates its position between red/magenta and green, with negative values representing green and positive values indicating red/magenta. The b* scales the position between yellow and blue, with negative values indicating blue and positive values representing yellow. The scale can also be set up for the Hunter L, a, b as well. MCT330SF NIR Moisture Transmitter for Moisture, Oil, Fat, and Flavorings
Key words: food safety, MCT330SF, stainless steel enclosure, reduce bacteria, moisture, oil, fat, flavorings, food safety modernization act
?On January 4, 2011, President Obama signed into law the most sweeping reform of our food safety laws in more than 70 years. The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) aims to ensure the US food supply is safe by shifting the focus from response to prevention.? SnaxPo 2012.
?For example, processors of all types of food will now be required to evaluate the hazards in their operations, implement and monitor effective measures to prevent contamination, and have a plan in place to take any corrective actions that are necessary. Also, FDA will have much more effective enforcement tools for ensuring those plans are adequate and properly implemented, including mandatory recall authority when needed to swiftly remove contaminated food from the market.
This law represents a sea change for food safety in America, bringing a new focus on prevention, and I expect that in the coming years it will have a dramatic and positive effect on the safety of the food supply. ?

The MCT330SF measures moisture, oil, fat, and flavorings on-line. It?s accurate, rugged, and reliable. The MCT330 is also housed in a unique stainless steel design with food grade optical window for wash down environments and high temperatures. The housing minimizes any areas for bacterial growth and is sealed for wash downs that will increase as manufacturer?s move from ?response to prevention?.
Process Sensors MCT330 HD continues its march to be the standard for NIR Food Grade Moisture Transmitters. As federal regulations push manufacturers towards stringent cleaning criteria for bacteria and other contaminants, the ability to withstand washdown environments sets the MCT330 apart.
IFT has aisles crowded with hungry attendees searching for new solutions to their process and laboratory needs. We have seen many happy customers and many new prospects looking for moisture and fat/oil measurements in food products.
