Process Sensors Corporation Transmitters are
used routinely to measure moisture and coat
weights in paper products.
Generally, a Transmitter is located after
a drying or re-moisturizing process. The Transmitter
is normally placed above the moving web, usually
at a distance of about 12 inches. Often the
Transmitter needs to be at a slight angle
off of the perpendicular, especially if the
paper is shiny or highly reflective.
When installing a Sensor, it is important
to keep environmental temperature in mind.
If the temperature is above 60°C, it may
be necessary to cool the Transmitter with
air or water. Calibrations for most paper/converting have
already been determined by Process Sensors
Corporation so that the Transmitter is delivered
pre-calibrated. Typical accuracies for moisture
of paper/converting is ± .1.

MCT-300
is designed to monitor paper, film, and other web moistures, coating
weights, and temperatures. Its Smart Sensor includes all the electronics
and optics required to make the measurements plus provide both analog
and digital signals for communication to PLCs, host computers, or other
controllers. No central processor is required!
MCT-300 produces a continuous
digital display of web moisture, coat weight, and/or temperature. The
signals are easily adapted to automatic controls and trend graphs. |
